‘Through experimental processes led by chance and expedition, materials were gathered from the river banks of the Rhone and its surrounds and recontextualised through composition and displacement - a nod to the Cubist principles that guided the founding artists of Moly-Sabata.’
Moly-Sabata was established in 1927 by the pioneering Cubist artists Albert Gleizes and Juliette Roche. Sited on the edge of the Rhone, the residency is the oldest active artist residency in France and is run by the Albert Gleizes Foundation.
